Hamilton, who is striving to secure his sixth pole position at Monza, says that the Mercedes-powered cars ahead of him are still faster.
Hamilton's Criticism of Team Strategy
He said, "We have a great car, but the Mercedes-powered cars ahead of us are a few tenths of a second faster on the straight. That's the reality, and we need to perform at our best. We hope to go to tracks in the future that are not dependent on engine power."
Hamilton also criticized the team's strategy, stating that it has prevented him from finding the right rhythm in his driving. He said, "Our performance in Q۳ was really bad. I was stuck in the middle of the track, and there was no one beside me. When you're behind another car, you reach the corner faster, and the braking distances change."
Antonelli in Search of Points
On the other hand, Kimi Antonelli, who has been moved to the back row due to an engine change, remains hopeful of scoring points in Sunday's race despite these challenges. He stated that he has tried to help his teammate George Russell and said, "That's what I had to do. The team asked me, and I did what I could."
Antonelli added, "We expect a tough battle in the race, but I hope to score points. We will try to stay out of trouble in the first two chicanes and then clear the traffic faster in the first few laps. It will be difficult, but I will try to enjoy it."
