The arrival of over ۷۰,۰۰۰ migrants in Ceuta in two days has raised many questions about Morocco&#۰۳۹;s role and crisis management.

On July ۳۰ and ۳۱, over ۷۰,۰۰۰ migrants rapidly surged into the small territory of Ceuta in North Africa, which is under Spanish sovereignty. This unprecedented and deadly event has not only heightened concerns about border security but has also raised fundamental questions about Morocco's possible role in this crisis.

Morocco's Role and Political Reactions

The leftist government of Spain has claimed that it received no prior warning about the scale of this crisis and asserts that there is no concrete evidence of Morocco's planning. However, recently disclosed police reports from Spain refer to the "full assistance" of Moroccan security forces in this surge and state that their numbers at the Ceuta border were below normal, with some actively helping migrants cross.

The Spanish Supreme Court has also recently begun its investigations in this matter, and it appears that this police report has formed the basis of the court's ruling. Meanwhile, conservative and right-wing parties have accused the government of ignoring warnings and capitulating to Morocco.

Disclosed Documents and Migrant Conditions

The Spanish government confirmed on Tuesday that it has prepared "about ۴۰ documents" for public disclosure. A government spokesperson stated that this action is aimed at transparency and the people's right to access information, although the specific details of these documents have not been revealed.

Most migrants who entered Ceuta have returned to Morocco, but thousands of them remain in difficult conditions in the city, and tensions between local residents and migrants are rising. The government has also announced that it is taking steps to provide accommodation for ۳,۴۰۰ migrants, with the goal of increasing this number to ۶,۰۰۰ in the coming days.

Despite the government's efforts to expedite the return of remaining migrants, identify them, and determine the facts regarding asylum requests, there are many challenges in this regard. In particular, thousands of unaccompanied children cannot simply be expelled and require special support.
