Amid international tensions, the increasing pressure from the United States on Iran has reached a dangerous level. Mohammad Reza Pezeshkian, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, expressed his dissatisfaction with the continuation of the war during a press conference and emphasized the need to strengthen the country's resilience.
Risks from External Pressures
Pezeshkian stated that continuing the conflicts is not only against Iran's interests but could also have serious repercussions for the country's security and stability. He added: "Instead of war and conflict, we should focus on strengthening infrastructure and national resilience. External pressures can exacerbate internal vulnerabilities, and we must be prepared to face these challenges."
These remarks come at a time when tensions in the Middle East have significantly increased, and U.S. policies appear aimed at weakening Iran in various arenas. Pezeshkian also referred to the role of international alliances, stating that Iran must continue to support its allies while also strengthening diplomacy and constructive dialogue with other countries.
The Necessity of Strengthening National Resilience
Pezeshkian emphasized that to counter external threats, Iran must focus on strengthening its internal and economic resilience. He noted: "We must utilize our domestic resources and pay attention to sustainable development and reducing dependence on foreign resources. Only in this way can we achieve long-term security and stability."
In this situation, it seems that Iran is striving to adopt a new approach to tackle upcoming challenges and focus on diplomatic solutions and strengthening internal capabilities instead of war and conflict.
