Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, emphasized that the aim of these attacks, following the discovery of a bomb-laden drone at Leipzig Airport in Germany this summer, is to intimidate France and undermine its efforts to support Ukraine. Macron stated, "The result will be completely the opposite."
Emphasis on National Security
Macron continued, "We are not afraid because we know that our security, today and tomorrow, is at risk in Ukraine." These remarks come amid escalating tensions in the region and increased military activities by Russia. The French President deemed France's role in supporting Ukraine as vital, emphasizing the importance of national security.

Energy Plans and International Cooperation
In a press conference, Macron announced new plans to build a pipeline for transporting gas and oil from Iraq to the European market. He said, "We are working to create a pipeline for transporting gas and oil from Iraq to the European market, in coordination with Iraq and Jordan." The French President also noted that gas storage projects in Europe will be expedited to reduce energy price burdens and provide suitable alternatives.
Macron also announced that a meeting will be held in the coming weeks within the G7 to "strengthen cooperation among member countries and help secure resources in the face of the current energy crisis caused by the war with Iran." He explained that this meeting will focus on energy issues, aiming to enhance cooperation and prevent unnecessary tensions.
Energy Crisis and Its Impacts
Macron further referred to the intensification of the energy crisis in the Middle East, stating, "Conflict in the Middle East exacerbates the energy crisis and increases the suffering of citizens due to rising gasoline and fuel prices." He emphasized that the energy crisis is not just a French problem, saying, "This crisis affects all countries on this continent."
The French President rejected any role of his country in the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, stating, "We have no role in the conflict that led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, but we are experiencing its consequences." Macron also called for "a diplomatic solution that guarantees the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz."
He stated, "We participated in an international mission to escort oil tankers and ensure their safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz," emphasizing the importance of diplomacy in resolving regional issues and urging allied countries to cooperate in this regard.
