The President of France, while noting that the multi-faceted attacks by Russia will not go unanswered by Europeans, emphasized: We are cooperating with Iraq and Jordan to build a gas and oil pipeline from Iraq to the European market.
Emphasis on responding to Russian threats
Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, referring to the discovery of a bomb-laden drone at Leipzig airport in Germany this summer, stated: "The aim of these attacks is to intimidate us and weaken our efforts to support the Ukrainians. The result will be completely the opposite."

He added: "We are not afraid because we know that our security, today and tomorrow, is at risk in Ukraine."
Energy projects and international cooperation
The President of France also announced plans to build a pipeline for transporting gas and oil from Iraq to the European market on Friday. Macron stated at a press conference, as reported by the Iraqi news agency: "We are working to create a pipeline for transporting gas and oil from Iraq to the European market, in coordination with Iraq and Jordan."
He added: "We will accelerate gas storage projects in Europe to reduce the energy price burden and provide alternatives."
The President of France stated that a meeting will be held in the coming weeks in the G7 to "strengthen cooperation among member countries and help secure resources in the face of the current energy crisis caused by the war with Iran."
Macron explained: "In the coming weeks, we will hold a meeting in the G7 dedicated to energy issues, just as we did a few months ago, both to strengthen cooperation and to prevent unnecessary tensions between the countries of this group and our main partners, as well as to discuss possible options for drawing from strategic reserves or lifting restrictions."
He explained that "the conflict in the Middle East exacerbates the energy crisis and increases the suffering of citizens due to rising gasoline and fuel prices." He noted that "the energy crisis is not just a French problem, but affects all countries on this continent."
Macron rejected any role for France in the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, stating: "We have no role in the conflict that led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, but we are experiencing its consequences."
He stated that "we participated in an international mission to escort oil tankers and ensure their safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz," calling for "a diplomatic solution that guarantees the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz."
